Beschreibung
The Flagship 2-Way Tower of Klipsch's Reference Premiere II Line
The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-8000F II is a 2-way floorstanding speaker with the same 1-inch Titanium LTS tweeter and 90° x 90° Tractrix horn as the rest of the Reference Premiere II line, over dual 8-inch Cerametallic woofers in the largest cabinet of the non-Atmos RP-series.
Klipsch rates sensitivity at 98 dB into a nominal 8 ohms, and rates power handling at 150 watts continuous — the most headroom in the standard Reference Premiere II line, for a larger room or a home theater that needs to play loud without strain.
The cabinet is available in Ebony or Walnut vinyl with a satin-painted baffle, and sold each, so a stereo pair is two — order one to match an existing speaker, or a matching pair to start a system from scratch.
Where the Bigger Woofers Earn Their Keep
The Same Tweeter, the Largest Bass Section in the Line
The 1-inch Titanium LTS tweeter, the same design used across the Reference Premiere II line, crosses over at 1,630 Hz to dual 8-inch Cerametallic woofers with Faraday shorting rings — the largest woofers in the non-Atmos Reference Premiere II line.
At 98 dB, this is the most sensitive tower in the standard RP line, a couple of decibels above the next size down, for genuine high-output headroom without pushing an amplifier hard.
The Numbers, and What They Ask of Your Amplifier
Klipsch quotes a frequency range of 35 Hz to 25 kHz within 3 dB. Sensitivity is 98 dB, nominal impedance is 8 ohms compatible, and Klipsch rates power handling at 150 watts continuous, 600 watts peak.
Dual aluminum binding posts support bi-wiring and bi-amping, plus a Dolby Atmos passthrough for adding an RP-500SA elevation speaker. Dual-chamber rear-firing Tractrix ports complete the cabinet, so give it a few inches of clearance from the wall behind it.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Jim Clements, Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity, found the RP-8000F II "well-made, dynamic, and detailed sounding with surprising musicality at their modest price point," with bench testing showing very low distortion and a flat frequency response.
A pair of RP-8000F II towers anchored a 5.1.2 Reference Premiere II system that Mark Henninger, Home Theater Review, named an Editor's Choice, adding of the towers themselves: "hyper-detailed, non-fatiguing."
Who Is This Floorstanding Speaker Best For?
- You want the most sensitive, highest-output tower in the standard Reference Premiere II line — dual 8-inch woofers and 98 dB sensitivity, the top of the non-Atmos RP series
- You're building a home theater around it — an Editor's Choice-winning 5.1.2 system was built around this exact tower
- You have a larger room to fill — the most bass output and amplifier headroom in the standard RP line
- You want one speaker per cabinet, priced and shipped that way — the RP-8000F II is sold each, so order two for a stereo pair
- You want real floorstanding bass without a separate subwoofer — the RP-8000F II reaches to 35 Hz within 3 dB on its own. For the deepest home-theater effects, add one of our subwoofers and let the towers do what they do best
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Give the cabinet a few inches of clearance from the wall behind it for its rear-firing ports to breathe. Dual aluminum binding posts accept a single-wire run, or a bi-wire/bi-amp connection if your amplifier supports it.
The hidden rear Dolby Atmos passthrough connections mean adding an RP-500SA elevation speaker on top later needs no extra wire runs, just a jumper.
Two cables, two speakers, and you are listening.
Pairs Well With
What finishes the system around a pair of RP-8000F II towers:
- AV receivers — the tower behind a real, reviewer-verified Editor's Choice home theater system
- Integrated amplifiers — 98 dB sensitivity means a quality integrated amplifier drives it with ease
- Speaker cables — single-wire or bi-wire runs, since this model supports both
- Audio racks — house the electronics driving the flagship of this line
Frequently Asked Questions
