Beschreibung
A Stereo Amplifier That Can Become 4.1
The C 700 V2 is a BluOS streaming amplifier with an unusual trick. Its HDMI eARC input accepts Dolby Digital. From there it can send audio wirelessly to rear speakers and to a subwoofer. Very few stereo amplifiers can do that at all.
The amplifier itself is NAD's HybridDigital UcD platform, rated above 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 100 watts into 4 ohms. IHF dynamic power reaches 100 watts into 8 ohms and 125 into 4. NAD has used this platform for many years now.
The Second Line Input Became a Phono Stage
Version two makes a deliberate trade. Where the original C 700 had two RCA line inputs, this one keeps a single line input and turns the other into a moving-magnet phono stage for a turntable.
The rest is generous. Digital inputs, HDMI eARC, a USB Type-A port for storage, a subwoofer output, Gigabit Ethernet, and two-way aptX HD Bluetooth that sends audio out to wireless headphones as readily as it receives.
What Changed Around the BluOS Module
BluOS is unchanged and still excellent, handling hi-res playback to 24-bit/192kHz with MQA decoding and multi-room across a whole house. What NAD reworked for version two is everything surrounding it.
The measurements are quiet for a compact chassis. Distortion stays below 0.04% from a quarter watt to 90 watts. Channel separation exceeds 93dB at 1kHz, and frequency response holds within 0.18dB from 20Hz to 20kHz.
Where Dirac Fits In
Dirac Live room correction is supported, though the license and measurement microphone are sold separately rather than included. If your room is difficult, that upgrade path is there when you want it.
A five-inch color display shows album artwork, and signal-to-noise measures better than 84dB A-weighted with a damping factor above 90. The chassis is 218 by 96 by 266mm and weighs 4.8kg. That is 10.6 pounds, small enough to sit on a desk.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Ed Selley reviewed the C 700 V2 for AVForums on December 23, 2024, scoring it 10 out of 10 and calling it "an easy Best in Class." He wrote that it "takes everything that the original C 700 did so well, loses none of that brilliance" and polishes the rest.
Dennis Burger reviewed it for SoundStage! Access on July 1, 2025. He concluded that "there's a lot to love about the C 700 V2," and singled out how NAD manages to offer "so many meaningfully different experiences" across its range.
Both landed on the same reservation, and it is worth knowing. Selley found the "Phono stage gain is smidge low" and the remote "isn't as useful as you think it is." If vinyl is your main source, plan on a hotter cartridge or an outboard stage.
Who Is This Streaming Amplifier Best For?
- You want your TV and your music on one box — HDMI eARC takes Dolby Digital, and BluOS handles everything else.
- You might want surround later — rear speakers and a subwoofer can be added wirelessly for a 4.1 setup.
- You stream across the house — BluOS multi-room, hi-res to 24-bit/192kHz, with MQA decoding.
- You use wireless headphones — two-way aptX HD Bluetooth transmits as well as receives.
- You play records — the moving-magnet phono input is built in, so a turntable connects without another box on the shelf. See our turntables.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Speakers go to the binding posts and a turntable to the moving-magnet phono input. HDMI eARC brings in the television, and the remaining line and digital inputs cover your other sources.
Ethernet or Wi-Fi joins the network for BluOS. A subwoofer output handles low end, a USB Type-A port takes a drive full of files, and Bluetooth pairs both ways.
Then the five-inch screen shows you what is playing, and you stop looking for the remote.
Pairs Well With
Building around the C 700 V2? Here are some good companions:
- Speakers: An efficient standmount pair suits its 80 watts — see our Bookshelf Speakers.
- Subwoofer: The dedicated output extends the low end, or joins a 4.1 setup — see our Subwoofers.
- Turntable: The MM phono input is built in — see our Turntables.
- Headphones: Two-way Bluetooth sends audio straight to wireless pairs — see our Headphones.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much power does the NAD C 700 V2 deliver?
More than 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 100 watts into 4 ohms, with IHF dynamic power of 100 watts into 8 ohms and 125 into 4.
Can it really drive surround speakers?
Yes. Fed Dolby Digital over HDMI eARC, it can send audio wirelessly to rear speakers and a subwoofer for a 4.1 system.
Is Dirac Live included?
Dirac Live room correction is supported, but the licence and the measurement microphone are sold separately.
Does it have a phono input?
Yes, a moving-magnet stage. Version two converted one of the original's two line inputs into it, so there is now one line input and one phono.
Does Bluetooth work in both directions?
Yes. It receives from a phone and transmits to wireless headphones, using aptX HD.
What warranty does it carry?
NAD covers the C 700 V2 with a 2-year parts and labor warranty.
